PFLAG Akron-oldest of 20 Ohio chapters-is a member of the National Federation of Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays founded in 1981 in Los Angeles. There are over 500 affiliates worldwide, comprising nearly 100,000 households. The National PFLAG office is located in Washington DC.
